On the occasion of World Parkinson’s Day on April 11th, 2023, there is an exciting event aimed at spreading awareness about Parkinson’s disease. It’s called the Sit to Stand Challenge and it will be held at Toronto City Hall.
You have the opportunity to join the Rigid Riders at Toronto City Hall in this global challenge that aims to raise awareness about Parkinson’s disease. The Sit-to-Stand Challenge has set a collective goal across Canada of completing 100,000 sit-to-stand exercises. This number represents the approximate number of people in Canada who suffer from Parkinson’s disease.
By participating in this challenge, you can help build Parkinson’s disease awareness across the Halton and Greater Toronto Region. To be a part of this great initiative, please RSVP your attendance.
The bus pick-up location is at Sheridan Centre – 2225 Erin Mills Parkway in Mississauga Tues., April 11th, 2023 at 11AM. The meeting space is the Tim Hortons Parking Lot. The bus will leave promptly at 11:00am, so please plan to arrive 15 minutes earlier.
The transportation has been generously donated by Switzer-CARTY Transportation, thanks to Mark Jennings’ efforts. We request a donation of $5.00 per person towards the driver’s gratuity.
Remember to bring a folding chair if possible and dress appropriately for our outdoor event at Nathan Phillips Square. After the event, the bus will pick up at Toronto City Hall at 1:30pm.
Let’s work together to spread Parkinson’s Disease Awareness! RSVP here
